MAMUSE

“Ma” as in Mamma

“Muse” as in the one who inspires

Harmonic, Uplifting, Folk-Soul-Revival; A Musical Tune-Up for the Heart

Wholeheartedly fed by the folk and gospel traditions, MaMuse (Sarah Nutting and Karisha Longaker) create uplifting music to inspire the world into thriving. Interweaving brilliant and haunting harmony with lyrics born of honed emotional intelligence, MaMuse invokes a musical presence that inspires the opening of the heart. Playing a family of varied acoustic instruments including upright bass, guitar, mandolins, and flutes, these two powerful women embody a love for all life. The synergy that is created through this musical connection is palpable and truly moving to witness.

This Is the Venue Is Here

This Is the Venue is MaMuse's seventh full-length album and their first studio recording with their full band. Written and shaped by Sorah Nutting and Karisha Longaker, it's a collection of songs born from both the heartbreak and the beauty of living in an unraveling world, embracing a richer, soul-infused sound while honoring the folk and Americana roots that have long defined their music. Made possible through the support of a community crowdfunding campaign, it marks an exciting new chapter for the duo.

Rooted in Sorah and Karisha's songwriting, the album is unmistakably the sound of a full band: Nate Dittle on piano and organ, Scott Elliott Ferreter on guitar, and producer Nino Moschella on percussion and production, his voice joining theirs throughout in lush, choir-like harmonies.
